Technical Writer

TrueMark is seeking a dedicated technical writer to join the team. You will join a team that works collaboratively with engineers, developers, executives, and other subject-matter experts to create and publish high-quality technical content for a number of media types and consumers.

This position is 100% remote. We have amazing engineers all around the world, and we are looking for someone who can work with our all our team in South Africa, Europe, and the United States.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include but not limited to

• Working with engineers to organize and update company’s knowledge base regularly
• Developing technical consumable content for our website including blog posts and case studies
• Writing proposals, statement of work, standard operating procedures and organize internal governance documentation
• Creating and maintaining documentation for our products and services
• Working with partners and other vendors to create and publish content that’s highly technical and consumable by engineers and technical executives
• Reviewing, assisting and often educating engineers and developers on how to write technical content

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in technical writing or software documentation
• Strong English language skills
• Must be able to understand and explain complex technical concepts
• Must be able to demonstrate strong research and analytical skills
• Needs the ability to undertake multiple projects and context switch efficiently
• Excellent technical writing skills
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in word processor programs such as Microsoft Word and Google Docs and PDF software such as Adobe Acrobat
• This jobs requires a detail-oriented individual
• Must be able to provide a portfolio of technical writing samples

Nice to Have

• Knowledge and experience with AWS services and technologies
• Experience with Git and GitHub
• Experience with Markdown, HTML and CSS
• Experience with Hugo
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience with Google Docs and Google Sheets
• The ability to speak and write in Afrikaans or any other language other than English
